ways to give

At a time when the need for our services has reached an all-time high, it’s inspiring to know that people like you are willing to help make a difference in a child’s life.  Together, we share in the joy and hope that is the spirit of Variety.

In today’s technologically advanced society, there is still physical access barriers for children with disabilities.  Stairs, narrow hallways, and doors continue to pose a challenge.  Won’t you help us help kids realize the freedom of accessibility?  It’s all about being ready, willing and able to help.  Every day, children with disabilities face countless challenges.  Today, we challenge you to be mindful of their special needs.  And act.

Personal gifts can be made in the form of cash, securities, real estate, bequests and other means.  Your contribution is fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law and may create significant tax savings.  Please consider one of the many forms of giving.

Giving Comes in Many Forms

Monthly Giving
We’ve created a monthly automatic donations program that allows you to donate directly from your credit card.

Matching Gifts
Many companies offer a matching gift program that could double the impact of your support.  Contact your Human Resources Department or Matching Gift Coordinator to see if your company will match your contribution.

Corporate Giving
We value our corporate partners and provide a number of ways for you to help us empower children to be more.  Whether through sponsorship of one of our events, employer giving or a cause marketing promotion, we can help your business find the right vehicle to highlight your corporate citizenship.

Caring Campus Program
College students can work together whether through a traditional fundraiser (tournament, loose change drive, or something completely new and different) to help bring in valuable revenue for Variety kids and introduces us to new friends.

Beneficiary Events
Individuals and organizations hold events that range from golf tournaments to bike rides.  Planning and coordinating a fundraising event can be exciting and fun.  Because state law mandates that all charitable events be registered with the charity, please call (412) 747-2680 for more information.

Schools Campaign
Students of all ages select, organize, manage and complete fundraisers within their school clubs, grade or group.  Teachers have as many or as few responsibilities as they and their students agree on.

Planned Giving
Planned giving benefits Variety and provides benefits and income to you.  There is a wide selection of gift vehicles.  Because planned giving involves your assets, philanthropic goals and family needs, please consult your financial planner or attorney before entering into any planned gift.

Gold Heart Pin Campaign
Our annual Gold Heart Pin sales of a small gold heart-shaped pin with a new design each year kicks off every November and runs through March.  Pins are $2 and are sold at retail outlets, movie theaters, companies, schools or by calling the Variety office.

Signature Events
Variety hosts special events every year (golf tournament, gala, radiothon, etc.) and sponsorship opportunities are available.  Please check on-line or call the Variety office.

Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)
Federal and state government employees may also contribute to Variety.  Our CFC designated code is #33169.

Workplace Giving
Plan a unique fundraising program involving your employees or colleagues.  Companies may support Variety through dress down days, fitness challenges or by setting up a payroll deduction plan.  Many corporations will match their employees’ fundraisers, doubling the contribution.

United Way of Allegheny County
While Variety is not a United Way agency, we do participate in its Contributor Choice program in the counties we serve.  Our Contributor Choice code is #2195.
